Free NAATI CCL Punjabi Mock Test 13: an NDIS planning meeting and a faulty washing machine
We built this paper around two dialogues that punish loose listening. The NDIS meeting asks you to hold two separate sets of three (three budgets, three ways of managing the money) without letting them bleed into each other, and the refund dialogue turns on one sentence about who gets to choose the remedy. Sit it once, mark it honestly, and you will know whether your memory or your rights vocabulary is the weaker half.
What this paper is built to expose
Intermediate — institutional language and multi-part answers. Every mock test in this library is written around specific, nameable failure points rather than being a random conversation — so the score you get tells you what to fix, not just whether you passed.
- 1holding two separate three-item lists in one dialogue without collapsing or reordering them
- 2keeping a rights statement intact: a major failure means the customer chooses the remedy, not the shop
- 3keeping the twelve month goal period and the review date of 10 August as two separate facts
- 4rendering money accurately when an hourly rate, a total and a purchase price all appear
- 5distinguishing may from must when an option becomes an obligation under a different arrangement
Sit the test
Model answers stay hidden until each dialogue is finished. Afterwards you mark yourself against 88 individual information units and the same 36-plus-9 split NAATI uses. The full transcript is further down the page whenever you want it — but read it before you sit, and the number stops meaning anything.
16 segments. Two dialogues. One take.
This runner keeps every model answer hidden until you finish a dialogue — the full transcript is further down the page, and reading it first is the one thing that makes your score meaningless. Interpret every segment out loud, as if someone is waiting for the meaning. Then mark yourself against the real criteria: 36 marks for accuracy, 9 for language quality, per dialogue.
Free, no account, nothing to install. Your score is saved on this device only.
Before you start
- Speak, do not think itInterpreting silently is a different skill from producing sound under pressure.
- Do not pause the segmentThe real test does not wait. Pausing turns a measurement into a rehearsal.
- Record yourself if you canYour phone's voice memo app is enough. It is the only way to hear your own hesitations.
- Mark harshlyAn assessor who has never met you certainly will.
How this mock test is scored
NAATI marks each CCL dialogue out of 45, split into two things that are assessed separately. The self-marking above mirrors that split exactly, which is what makes the number comparable to a real result rather than a guess.
Every fact, number, name, qualifier and instruction that has to cross into the other language. Omit one and it is gone; change one and it costs you again, because a distorted fact is worse than a missing one for the person relying on you.
Fluency, grammar and vocabulary, and register. This is where two candidates who conveyed identical content end up several marks apart — one sounded like an interpreter, the other sounded like they were guessing.
The rule that catches people: you need 63 out of 90 overall and at least 29 out of 45 on each dialogue. A brilliant disability & aged care dialogue cannot rescue a weak consumer affairs one. How CCL scoring really works.

First NDIS Plan: Goals, Three Budgets and Who Holds the Money
Your brief. An NDIS planner is holding the first planning meeting for Jashan Sandhu, a fourteen year old boy with autism. His mother speaks Punjabi and attends alone. Over the next hour they must agree his goals for the coming twelve months, decide how the funding will be managed, and settle how much speech therapy the plan will pay for. You are the interpreter for the meeting.
Speakers: NDIS planner (English) and Punjabi-speaking mother (Punjabi). You interpret for both.
- 1. PlannerEnglish Punjabi38 words
Thanks for coming in, Mrs Sandhu. This is Jashan's first NDIS plan, so today we agree his goals for the next twelve months. He turned fourteen in March, and his autism diagnosis is on file. Is that correct?
aaun layi dhanvaad, Sandhu ji. ih Jashan da pahila NDIS plan hai, is layi ajj asin agle baaraan mahinian layi us de teeche tai karaange. uh March vich chaudaan saal da ho gaya si, ate us di autism di tashkhees saade kol daraj hai. ki ih theek hai?
What must survive (6 marks of information)- this is Jashan's first plan, not a review
- today's purpose is agreeing goals
- goals cover the next twelve months
- he turned fourteen in March
- the autism diagnosis is already on file
- asks the mother to confirm
Terms in this segment- goal — ਟੀਚਾ teecha
- diagnosis — ਤਸ਼ਖ਼ੀਸ tashkhees
- autism — ਔਟਿਜ਼ਮ autism
Where marks go here: Candidates say "we will look at your plan" and lose the word first, which is what makes this a planning meeting rather than a review. The age and the month are two separate scoreable facts, not one.
- 2. Mrs SandhuPunjabi English39 words
haan ji, sabh theek hai. is saal saade tinn teeche han: Jashan poore vaakaan vich gall kare, ikalla bus vich school jaave, ate kise khed club vich shaamal hove. hun uh sirf tinn chaar shabdaan de vaak bolda hai.
Model interpretationYes, that is all correct. We have three goals this year: that Jashan speaks in full sentences, that he travels to school on the bus by himself, and that he joins a sports club. At the moment he only speaks in sentences of three or four words.
What must survive (6 marks of information)- confirms the planner's details
- there are three goals for the year
- goal one: speaking in full sentences
- goal two: travelling to school by bus alone
- goal three: joining a sports club
- currently only three or four word sentences
Terms in this segment- full sentences — ਪੂਰੇ ਵਾਕ poore vaak
- on his own — ਇਕੱਲਾ ikalla
- to join — ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣਾ shaamal hona
Where marks go here: The three goals are marked separately and so is the current level of speech. Candidates who summarise as "she wants him to talk better and be independent" lose three of the four. Alone on the bus is the point, not simply the bus.
- 3. PlannerEnglish Punjabi38 words
Your plan has three budgets. Core covers everyday supports like a support worker and transport. Capacity building covers therapy and skill building. Capital covers equipment, such as a communication device. Capital money cannot be moved to the others.
tuhade plan vich tinn budget han. core rozaana dian lodaan layi hai, jiven support worker ate aaun jaan da kharcha. capacity building therapy ate hunar sikhan layi hai. capital saamaan layi hai, jiven gallbaat vaala yantar. capital de paise baaki dohaan vich nahin varte ja sakde.
What must survive (5 marks of information)- the plan has three budgets
- core: everyday supports, support worker, transport
- capacity building: therapy and skill building
- capital: equipment, e.g. a communication device
- capital money cannot be shifted to the other two
Terms in this segment- budget — ਬਜਟ budget
- capacity building — ਕਪੈਸਿਟੀ ਬਿਲਡਿੰਗ capacity building
- equipment — ਸਾਮਾਨ saamaan
Where marks go here: This is the memory-load trap of the paper. Assessors mark each budget name paired with the right example, so swapping therapy into core, or transport into capital, costs a mark twice over. The final restriction on capital money is a separate scoreable unit that candidates routinely run out of breath before reaching.

speech therapy ihnaan vichon kis vich aavegi? school vich us nu do haftian vich sirf veeh mint milde han, te baahar vaali therapist ikk session de do sau das daalar mangdi hai. saanu kinne ghante milange?
Model interpretationWhich of those does speech therapy come under? At school he only gets twenty minutes a fortnight, and the outside therapist charges two hundred and ten dollars a session. How many hours will we get?
What must survive (5 marks of information)- asks which budget speech therapy sits in
- school provides only twenty minutes
- that twenty minutes is per fortnight, not per week
- private therapist charges $210 per session
- asks how many hours the plan will fund
Terms in this segment- speech therapy — ਸਪੀਚ ਥੈਰੇਪੀ speech therapy
- fortnight — ਦੋ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ do hafte
- session — ਸੈਸ਼ਨ session
Where marks go here: "ਦੋ ਹਫ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ" is a fortnight; rendering it as "two hours a week" or "twenty minutes a week" changes the whole case for extra funding. The $210 is a per session rate and must not be flattened into a total.
- 5. PlannerEnglish Punjabi39 words
Speech therapy sits under capacity building. I have funded forty hours at around one hundred and ninety three dollars an hour, about seven thousand seven hundred dollars. Your plan review is booked for the tenth of August next year.
speech therapy capacity building vich aundi hai. main chaali ghantian de fund rakhe han, takreeban ikk sau tiraanve daalar prati ghanta, yaani lagbhag satt hazaar satt sau daalar. tuhada plan review agle saal das August nu rakhia gaya hai.
What must survive (5 marks of information)- speech therapy is funded from capacity building
- forty hours funded for the year
- around $193 an hour
- total is about $7,700
- plan review is booked for 10 August next year
Terms in this segment- per hour — ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਘੰਟਾ prati ghanta
- plan review — ਪਲੈਨ ਰੀਵਿਊ plan review
- approximately — ਤਕਰੀਬਨ takreeban
Where marks go here: Three numbers land in eight seconds: the hours, the hourly rate and the total. Candidates who give only the total lose two marks, and those who convert $193 an hour into "$193 a session" contradict the mother's own $210 session figure from the previous turn.
- 6. Mrs SandhuPunjabi English36 words
meri guaandhan kahindi hai ki paise sambhaalan de tinn tareeke han: main aap sambhaalaan, plan manager sambhaale, jaan agency aap bill bhare. ki school da sahaayak ate us di mirgi di davaai vi plan vichon milegi?
Model interpretationMy neighbour says there are three ways to handle the money: I manage it myself, a plan manager handles it, or the agency pays the bills directly. Will the plan also cover the aide at school and his epilepsy medication?
What must survive (6 marks of information)- a neighbour is the source of this information
- option one: she manages the money herself
- option two: a plan manager handles it
- option three: the agency pays providers directly
- asks whether the school aide is covered
- asks whether his epilepsy medication is covered
Terms in this segment- neighbour (female) — ਗੁਆਂਢਣ guaandhan
- teacher's aide — ਸਹਾਇਕ sahaayak
- epilepsy — ਮਿਰਗੀ mirgi
Where marks go here: The second three-item list arrives only three segments after the first, and candidates who mentally filed the budgets away often produce "core, capacity building, capital" here by reflex. Two questions are asked, not one; dropping the epilepsy medication removes the health-system half of the planner's next answer.
- 7. PlannerEnglish Punjabi36 words
If you self manage or use a plan manager, you may choose any therapist. Under agency management you must use registered providers. The school aide and his epilepsy medicine are education and health costs, not NDIS.
je tusin khud manage karde ho jaan plan manager rakhde ho, taan tusin koi vi therapist chun sakde ho. agency management vich tuhanu registered provider hi varatne painge. school da sahaayak ate mirgi di davaai sikhia ate sehat de kharche han, NDIS de nahin.
What must survive (5 marks of information)- self managing or plan managing: you may use any therapist
- agency managed: you must use registered providers
- the school aide is an education responsibility
- the epilepsy medicine is a health cost
- neither is funded by the NDIS
Terms in this segment- registered provider — ਰਜਿਸਟਰਡ ਪ੍ਰੋਵਾਈਡਰ registered provider
- you must — ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਵੇਗਾ tuhanu pavega
- education — ਸਿੱਖਿਆ sikhia
Where marks go here: The modal switch from may to must is the whole answer: rendering both as ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ turns a legal restriction into a suggestion and the mother may hire an unregistered therapist she then cannot claim for. Naming only one of the two unfunded items loses the second mark.
- 8. Mrs SandhuPunjabi English36 words
theek hai, phir plan manager hi rakh dio. taan saanu chaali ghante speech therapy milegi ate review das August nu hai. je Jashan di haalat pahilaan badal gayi taan ki main jaldi review mang sakdi haan?
Model interpretationThat is fine, please put us with a plan manager. So we get forty hours of speech therapy, and the review is on the tenth of August. If Jashan's condition changes before then, can I ask for an early review?
What must survive (5 marks of information)- she chooses plan management
- confirms forty hours of speech therapy
- confirms the review date of 10 August
- conditional: if his condition changes before then
- asks whether an early review is possible
Terms in this segment- condition (health) — ਹਾਲਤ haalat
- early — ਜਲਦੀ jaldi
Where marks go here: She chose one of the three options by name, so "she will manage it herself" is a direct contradiction of the source. The conditional "if his condition changes" must survive as a condition; candidates who state it as a fact make her sound as though he has already deteriorated.
Register and cultural mediation in this dialogue
- The planner is a stranger with authority over the family's funding, so ਤੁਸੀਂ is required throughout in both directions. Even when the mother speaks warmly about her son, she is not on ਤੂੰ terms with the planner.
- There is no settled Punjabi equivalent for core, capacity building and capital as NDIS budget names. Australian Punjabi families use the English labels, so keep them in English and add a two or three word gloss the first time rather than inventing translations the plan manager will not recognise.
- Parents often present a disability as ਬਿਮਾਰੀ (illness). Do not upgrade or soften the mother's wording into medical language of your own: interpret what she says, and let the planner ask any clarifying question themselves.

Faulty Washing Machine: Consumer Guarantees, Major Failure and Store Credit
Your brief. Five months after buying a washing machine from a large retailer, Mr Dhaliwal finds it stops mid cycle and leaks. The shop has offered him a store credit instead of his money back. He has come to a Consumer Affairs Victoria information counter with an interpreter to find out what the law actually entitles him to and what he should do next.
Speakers: Consumer affairs information officer (English) and Punjabi-speaking customer (Punjabi). You interpret for both.
- 1. OfficerEnglish Punjabi35 words
I am an information officer with Consumer Affairs Victoria. Before I can advise you, I need three things: what you bought, the date of purchase, and exactly what the fault is. This advice is free.
main Consumer Affairs Victoria da information officer haan. salaah den ton pahilaan mainu tinn gallaan chahidian han: tusin ki khareedia, khareedan di taareekh, ate nuks bilkul ki hai. ih salaah muft hai.
What must survive (6 marks of information)- he is an information officer, not a lawyer
- he works for Consumer Affairs Victoria
- he needs what was bought
- he needs the date of purchase
- he needs the exact fault
- the advice is free
Terms in this segment- information officer — ਇਨਫ਼ਰਮੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ information officer
- date of purchase — ਖ਼ਰੀਦਣ ਦੀ ਤਾਰੀਖ਼ khareedan di taareekh
- fault / defect — ਨੁਕਸ nuks
Where marks go here: Candidates upgrade information officer to "lawyer" or "solicitor", which misrepresents the service and costs a mark on the role. The three requested items are three separate ticks; "tell me about the problem" collapses them into one.
- 2. Mr DhaliwalPunjabi English35 words
main pandraan March nu ikk washing machine khareedi si, ikk hazaar do sau nabbe daalar di. panj mahinian vich ih chaar vaari vichkaar hi band ho gayi ate hun hethon paani vi leak kardi hai.
Model interpretationI bought a washing machine on the fifteenth of March for one thousand two hundred and ninety dollars. In five months it has stopped mid cycle four times, and now it is also leaking water underneath.
What must survive (6 marks of information)- purchased on 15 March
- the item is a washing machine
- the price was $1,290
- it has stopped mid cycle four times
- that happened within five months
- it is now also leaking water
Terms in this segment- washing machine — ਵਾਸ਼ਿੰਗ ਮਸ਼ੀਨ washing machine
- to leak — ਲੀਕ ਕਰਨਾ leak karna
- midway / in the middle — ਵਿਚਕਾਰ vichkaar
Where marks go here: Four numbers sit in one breath: the date, the price, the four breakdowns and the five months. Candidates commonly merge the last two into "it has broken down a few times", which destroys the evidence that this is a major failure rather than a one-off fault.
- 3. OfficerEnglish Punjabi38 words
Every product sold in Australia comes with automatic consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Those rights are free and separate from any extended warranty you paid for. The warranty adds to your rights; it never replaces them.
Australia vich vikan vaali har cheez naal Australian Consumer Law de tahit aapne aap guarantee-aan mildian han. ih hakk muft han ate tuhadi khareedi hoyi vaadhoo warranty ton vakhre han. warranty tuhade hakkaan vich vaadha kardi hai, uhnaan di thaan kade nahin laindi.
What must survive (6 marks of information)- every product sold in Australia is covered
- the guarantees are automatic under the Australian Consumer Law
- these rights cost nothing
- they are separate from an extended warranty
- a warranty adds to the rights
- a warranty never replaces the rights
Terms in this segment- consumer guarantee — ਕੰਜ਼ਿਊਮਰ ਗਾਰੰਟੀ consumer guarantee
- extended warranty — ਵਾਧੂ ਵਾਰੰਟੀ vaadhoo warranty
- rights — ਹੱਕ hakk
Where marks go here: "Separate from" and "never replaces" are the two halves of the same protection and both are marked. Candidates who render the guarantee as ਵਾਰੰਟੀ leave the customer unable to distinguish the free legal right from the $150 product he was sold.
- 4. Mr DhaliwalPunjabi English35 words
dukaan vaalian ne mainu ikk sau panjaah daalar di vaadhoo warranty vechi si, par hun uh kahinde han ki machine sirf theek karaange. main paise vaapas mange taan uhnaan ne store credit di peshkash keeti.
Model interpretationThe shop sold me a hundred and fifty dollar extended warranty, but now they say they will only repair the machine. When I asked for my money back, they offered me a store credit.
What must survive (4 marks of information)- he paid $150 for an extended warranty
- the shop says it will only repair
- he asked for a refund
- the shop offered a store credit instead
Terms in this segment- store credit — ਸਟੋਰ ਕਰੈਡਿਟ store credit
- refund — ਪੈਸੇ ਵਾਪਸ paise vaapas
- to repair — ਠੀਕ ਕਰਨਾ theek karna
Where marks go here: The word ਸਿਰਫ਼ (only) is what makes the shop's position a refusal rather than an offer; dropping it makes the retailer sound cooperative. A store credit is not a refund, so rendering ਸਟੋਰ ਕਰੈਡਿਟ as "they gave me my money back" reverses the entire dispute.
- 5. OfficerEnglish Punjabi39 words
This sounds like a major failure. With a minor failure the shop may choose to repair it. With a major failure you choose the remedy: a refund, a replacement, or keeping it and claiming compensation. That choice is yours.
ih vadda nuks (major failure) laggda hai. chhote nuks vich dukaan chaahe taan murammat kar sakdi hai. par vadde nuks vich hall tusin chunde ho: paise vaapas, navin machine, jaan machine rakh ke muaavza. ih chon tuhadi hai.
What must survive (6 marks of information)- the officer assesses this as a major failure
- with a minor failure the shop may choose repair
- with a major failure the customer chooses the remedy
- remedy option: a refund
- remedy option: a replacement
- remedy option: keep it and claim compensation
Terms in this segment- major failure — ਵੱਡਾ ਨੁਕਸ vadda nuks
- minor failure — ਛੋਟਾ ਨੁਕਸ chhota nuks
- remedy — ਹੱਲ hall
- compensation — ਮੁਆਵਜ਼ਾ muaavza
Where marks go here: This is the segment the paper is built on. Softening "you choose the remedy" into ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੰਗ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ (you can ask for) hands the decision back to the retailer and is marked as a distortion, not a minor omission. The minor-failure clause must stay attached to the shop and the major-failure clause to the customer.

meri raseed gumm ho gayi hai, par mere kol bank statement hai jis utte us din di payment dikhdi hai. dukaan vaale raseed mangde han. ki ih kaafi hai? ate ki mainu store credit laina hi pavega?
Model interpretationI have lost my receipt, but I have a bank statement showing the payment on that day. The shop is asking for the receipt. Is the statement enough? And do I have to take the store credit?
What must survive (6 marks of information)- the receipt has been lost
- he has a bank statement instead
- the statement shows the payment on that day
- the shop is demanding the receipt
- asks whether the statement is sufficient proof
- asks whether he is obliged to accept the store credit
Terms in this segment- receipt — ਰਸੀਦ raseed
- bank statement — ਬੈਂਕ ਸਟੇਟਮੈਂਟ bank statement
- lost / missing — ਗੁੰਮ gumm
Where marks go here: Two distinct questions close this turn and each is scored. Candidates who ask only about the receipt drop the store credit question, which is the one the officer's answer turns on.
- 7. OfficerEnglish Punjabi40 words
A bank statement is enough proof of purchase. You do not have to accept a store credit when a refund is owed. Ask for the refund in writing, and if they still refuse, lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria.

What must survive (6 marks of information)- a bank statement counts as proof of purchase
- he is not obliged to accept a store credit
- that applies when a refund is owed
- the request must be made in writing
- if the shop still refuses, lodge a complaint
- the complaint goes to Consumer Affairs Victoria
Terms in this segment- proof of purchase — ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਦਾ ਸਬੂਤ khareed da saboot
- in writing — ਲਿਖਤੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ likhti roop vich
- to lodge a complaint — ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਨੀ shikaayat daraj karni
Where marks go here: The condition "when a refund is owed" is what keeps this accurate; without it the interpretation becomes an absolute promise that no store credit ever has to be accepted. The escalation step is conditional too, and candidates who state it as the immediate next action send the customer to the regulator before he has written to the shop.

samajh gaya. main ajj hi manager nu email likh ke ikk hazaar do sau nabbe daalar vaapas mangaanga, store credit nahin. je do haftian vich javaab na aaya taan main tuhade kol shikaayat daraj karaanga.
Model interpretationUnderstood. I will email the manager today and ask for my one thousand two hundred and ninety dollars back, not a store credit. If there is no reply within two weeks, I will lodge a complaint with you.
What must survive (5 marks of information)- he will email the manager today
- he will ask for $1,290 back
- he explicitly refuses a store credit
- conditional: if there is no reply within two weeks
- he will then lodge a complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria
Terms in this segment- reply — ਜਵਾਬ javaab
- two weeks — ਦੋ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ do hafte
Where marks go here: The $1,290 returns here for the second time and must match segment two exactly; a candidate who says $1,209 or $1,290 in one place and "about twelve hundred" in the other loses consistency marks. "Not a store credit" is a contrast the assessor listens for.
Register and cultural mediation in this dialogue
- Punjabi has one everyday word, ਵਾਰੰਟੀ, doing the work of both the free statutory guarantee and the paid extended warranty. Because this dialogue turns on the difference, keep ਗਾਰੰਟੀ for the legal right and ਵਾਰੰਟੀ for the product the shop sold him, and use both consistently once you have chosen.
- Customers who have been refused once often shift into apologetic or deferential language with an official. Interpret the register the client actually uses; do not make him sound more assertive because you personally think he should be, and do not soften his refusal of the store credit.
- The officer is a stranger in an official role, so ਤੁਸੀਂ is used in both directions throughout. Dropping into ਤੂੰ when the officer gives direct instructions would read as a rebuke rather than advice.

Marking yourself is the slow way
It works, and it is free — but it takes twenty minutes per dialogue and it depends on you being honest about what you actually said. Inside the course you record your answer, and it is transcribed and scored against the model automatically, segment by segment, with the information you dropped highlighted. 112 dialogues across every CCL domain, unlimited scored mock tests, and a vocabulary bank that resurfaces the terms you keep missing.
No card to start. The free papers here stay free either way.
Questions about this mock test
- Does the NDIS dialogue expect me to know the actual NDIS budget names?
- You do not need policy knowledge to pass, but you do need the labels. Core, capacity building and capital have no accepted Punjabi translations, so Australian Punjabi families and providers use the English terms. Learn them as fixed phrases and add a short gloss the first time each appears.
- How do I interpret a list of three things without forgetting the middle one?
- Note-take vertically rather than in prose: one line per item, with a symbol for the category and a symbol for its example. This paper deliberately gives you two three-item lists three segments apart, and candidates who write in sentences almost always lose the middle item of the second list.
- In consumer dialogues, is it safe to translate warranty and guarantee with the same Punjabi word?
- No, and this paper is built to expose that. The consumer guarantee is a free statutory right and the extended warranty is a product the customer paid one hundred and fifty dollars for. If both come out as ਵਾਰੰਟੀ, the client cannot follow why the shop's warranty terms do not limit his refund.
- What is the difference between a major and a minor failure, and why does it matter for marks?
- With a minor failure the retailer may choose to repair the item. With a major failure the customer chooses between a refund, a replacement, or keeping the goods and claiming compensation. Reversing who holds that choice is scored as a distortion, which costs far more than a dropped detail.
- Should I interpret dollar figures as numerals or as words?
- Say them the way the speaker would in the target language, and above all say them the same way twice. This paper repeats one thousand two hundred and ninety dollars in segments two and eight, and assessors check the second mention against the first for consistency as well as accuracy.
- The mother asks two questions in one turn. Do I have to keep both?
- Yes. In segment six she asks about the school aide and about epilepsy medication, and each is a separate scoreable unit that the planner then answers separately. Dropping one question makes the following answer look like it came from nowhere, which usually costs marks in that segment too.
